QVC and the Housewares Charity Foundation have teamed to debut a housewares shopping event called Living For Giving, benefitting Feeding America, a non-profit that provides food to communities in need through a network of food banks across the country.
The charitable shopping event, which is live now across QVC digital, streaming, and social platforms, is offering consumers a special selection of housewares through October.
“At QVC, we have a long-standing commitment to doing business the right way and creating positive change for all the communities we touch,” said Rob Robillard, senior vp, merchandising for home, culinary, electronics, and merchandising operations at QVC and HSN. “Along with the Housewares Charity Foundation and Feeding America, we’re using our scale and resources to bring people together around critical issues and help drive progress, providing customers another meaningful opportunity to shop for a great cause.”

The Housewares Charity Foundation during the past 22 has raised more than $50 million for such causes as breast cancer research, pediatric cancer, Alzheimer’s, multiple sclerosis and others.
Feeding America directs 99% percent of contributions into hunger-relief programs across the United States. A dollar helps to provide at least 10 meals secured by Feeding America on behalf of local member food banks, according to the charitable organization.
QVC teamed with Feeding America during the 2020 holiday season to provide 2 million meals to families in need. The Living For Giving event expands QVC’s decades-long commitment to collaborate with organizations and brands that give back to meaningful causes, according to QVC.
Celebrity chef and television personality Geoffrey Zakarian has donated to the Living For Giving program from his eponymous cooking line at QVC. “I am pleased to be included in this wonderful new opportunity that will help millions of Americans fight hunger, and I look forward to working with both QVC and the Housewares Charity Foundation on such an important cause,” Zakarian said.
David Venable, host of “In the Kitchen with David” on QVC, is scheduled to host a two-hour live broadcast on August 4 at 8 p.m. EDT featuring such brands as Cuisinart, Dyson, Ninja, Dash, PowerXL and NutriBullet.
Seventy percent of the purchase prices (excluding shipping and handling charges and tax) for donated products from the Living For Giving shopping event will go the Feeding America network, according to QVC and the Housewares Charity Foundation.
