Shoppe Object, the semi-annual lifestyle home and gift trade show in New York City, is moving beginning in February 2025 to a new venue on the West Side of Manhattan that will be able to host the show under one roof, according to a letter to exhibitors from Shoppe Object management.

Shoppe Object, acquired by Andmore (formerly IMC) in 2022, hosted its 2024 winter and summer shows, the latter of which concludes today at a combination of the show’s longstanding Pier 36 location on Manhattan’s Lower East Side and the nearby Skylight at Essex Crossings event space. Prior to that, the show, which occupied Pier 36 for six years, had expanded into an adjacent temporary pavilion tent. Shoppe Object debuted in August 2018 at the Metropolitan West event space on New York City’s West Side.

Jesse James, Shoppe Object founder and director, in a letter this week to exhibitors obtained by HomePage News, said the show’s forthcoming permanent venue will be in an “iconic building” in New York’s West Side Chelsea neighborhood. James, who advised exhibitors in the letter that he was unable at the time to share details on the new venue, told HomePage News specifics about the building and its location will be announced soon.

James said in the letter, “While we have loved every minute at Pier 36, and the recent excitement of our expansion at Essex Crossing, we have also recognized the long-term need for a dynamic, permanent home… that could carefully balance our complex needs: an exhibition space big enough for thoughtful growth while maintaining an intimacy that’s intrinsic to our show, a facility that could handle our volume without cramping our style and physical proximity to familiar ground, without losing the creative spirit that can be stifled in a commercial setting.”

James said management of Shoppe Object and Andmore are working directly with the building’s owners and managers to develop a full-service event space capable of accommodating Shoppe Object as it expands.

“The perfect venue didn’t actually exist, so we set out to create it, embarking on a broad search that brought us to every corner of the city,” James continued in the letter. “We knew the unique vibe and energy we have all created together could not be sacrificed, and we also knew that our customers have been looking to minimize travel time while visiting New York City for market week. After what felt like a rather endless search, we sparked a conversation with an iconic building in West Chelsea that ticked all our boxes!”

James noted in the letter the location for Shoppe Object, beginning with the February 2025 Show, is close to New York’s High Line elevated park and the Gallery District and within walking distance of Hudson Yards and the Javits Center.

“Our custom footprint will give us room to welcome more great brands to our community while maintaining the careful curation that is at the heart of what we do,” James said in the letter.

He said several Shoppe Object exhibitors, including many pleased with the Skylight at Essex Crossing space, told him this week they are enthusiastic about the prospect of the show under one roof as a more convenient and effective presentation of the show’s expanded, curated scope of design-driven home and gift products.
