Gourmet housewares retailers and suppliers will connect during the Winter 2024 Atlanta Market with help from new product showcases, education sessions and networking events by the GC and HTI buying groups.
The Atlanta Market is set for January 16-22 at AmericasMart Atlanta.
GC Buying Group is holding its GCX: Start the Year event in partnership with Atlanta Market operator Andmore. The program starts Tuesday, January 16, with a seminar series, a keynote address, lunch group chats and vendor presentations. The day concludes with GC retailer member-exclusive networking reception with industry affiliates.
The GCX Expo and Vendor Showcase follows on Wednesday, January 17, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
HTI Buying Group opens its Atlanta Market activity on Wednesday, January 17, with a luncheon at the Duggan Bliss showroom.
The HIT vendor showcase for its member stores is set for 8 a.m. to noon on January 17. That afternoon, HTI is partnering with select showrooms by sponsoring coffee at Kasperzak & Associates, waters at Ryan Associates, an HTI member luncheon at Kitchen2Table and cocktails at Synergy Sales. HTI will conclude the day with a member retailer meeting, during which it plans to introduce a new buying program for 2024.
Meanwhile, Andmore announced that 10 new and expanded showrooms will be featured among the 475-plus permanent gourmet resources at Atlanta Market.
Gibson Housewares (tabletop and kitchenware) is set to debut a new showroom, while Rosenthal Sambonet (fine porcelain, china and dinnerware) and Vista Alegre (crystalware and barware) will present expanded showrooms. Atlanta Market previously announced new showrooms for Kadra Kitchenware (flatware and formal dinnerware) and Le Creuset (cookware and Dutch ovens); and previously announced expansions Harold Imports (housewares and cooking tools); Portmeirion (dinnerware and homeware); Rosse & Associates (tabletop and kitchenware); Two Lumps of Sugar (kitchen accessories); and William Yeoward Crystal (crystal bowls and barware).
The market is also set to have 150 gourmet, housewares and tabletop lines presented in its temporary exhibit, including first-time exhibitor Cozyville Inc. (Dutch ovens and kitchen accessories.
The Jura Demonstration Kitchen in the hub of Atlanta Market’s gourmet product resources (Building 2, Floor 8) is scheduled to present cooking classes during market.
Local chef Joseph Nguyen will make specialty sushi rice on Thursday, January 18, at 2:30 p.m. Ari Lowenstein of Ari’s Pantry make arepas from the World Central Kitchen Cookbook in the Gift for Life Cooking Demo on Friday, January 19, at 2:30 p.m.
Additional gourmet events in Atlanta include Culinary Futures, with culinary students preparing food with professional chefs on Thursday, January 18 at 5:30 p.m.
