The Cookware & Bakeware Alliance (CBA), at its recent 102nd Fall Member Meeting, showcased several educational presentations and updates on CBA membership programs and strategic initiatives.
Vanessa Peterson, trend forecaster and global color styling lead for paint and nonstick coating company PPG offered a look into 2025-and-beyond color and design trends. She guided attendees through the future of aesthetics, highlighting key colors, materials, and styles poised to shape the industry.
Attorney Tom Lee, a partner in the energy, environment and infrastructure practice group of San Francisco law firm Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner, presented legislative updates affecting the cookware and bakeware industry.
The CBA updated members on its recently announced strategic initiative to increase retailer membership within the alliance. This move aims to create a more comprehensive representation of the industry supply chain and foster stronger relationships between manufacturers and retailers, according to CBA Managing Director Fran Groesbeck. Groesbeck said retailers “provide crucial insights from the front lines of consumer interaction,” “help unify industry standards, potentially leading to a more streamlined and efficient approach to testing and quality assurance,” and “offer invaluable perspective on market trends, consumer demands, and industry challenges.”
Benefits of CBA membership for retailers, Groesbeck said, include:
- Access to timely and relevant regulation information and seminars
- Insights on standards, coatings, and product testing
- Networking opportunities with manufacturers and suppliers
- Educational resources, including potential “Boot Camp” training for buyers
- Updates on innovations in cookware and bakeware technology
The CBA has opened applications for its 2025 Industry Partner Program. Participants in the program, according to CBA, receive sponsorship of spring and fall CBA member meetings; year-round visibility on the CBA’s website (cookwareandbakeware.org) as an official industry partner; and social media exposure related to CBA.
