As the Paris Games draw attention to the Olympics, Wayfair has announced a new collaboration with Shawn Johnson East, an Olympic gold medalist and world all-around champion gymnast who competed in the 2008 Games. Johnson East appears in a new installment of the company’s “House to Home” video series, which profiles families redecorating to personalize their homes.
Johnson East, a mother of three, also made an appearance in Wayfair’s recent Welcome to the Wayborhood brand campaign, opening her Nashville home to show how she transformed the living space with welcoming and family-friendly interiors from Wayfair. As part of the campaign, she shares some of her favorite product picks with Wayfair customers. Johnson East balances style and function in her design choices, the company noted. From hosting dinner parties in her kitchen to incorporating neutral, washable fabrics in her living room, she gives consumers a glimpse of how she has embraced the comfort and chaos that comes with family life.
In her home choices, Johnson East expressed her personal style by layering soft silhouettes, textured upholstery and pattern play textiles on an otherwise neutral yet contemporary interior, Wayfair pointed out. Consumers who find inspiration in her home can shop the Wayfair x Shawn Johnson East collaboration, which includes items such as Willa Arlo Interiors Monette Throw Pillow, the Wade Logan Carrena Boucle Upholstered Swivel Armchair and the Joss & Main Shae Fixed Top Dining Table.
“Shawn was the perfect person to partner with for this series,” said Wayfair brand creative director Kyle Wright, in announcing the collaboration. “Not only is she an inspiring, world-renowned athlete, but she’s a super mom of three, who, like many of our customers, is in the early stages of building her family home. We’re honored that she let us peel back the curtain and share how her family’s personality shines through in her decor and through this new product collaboration with Wayfair.”
