Walmart has launched New Year’s resolution-themed promotional campaign that encourages more consumers to sign up for its membership program.
Walmart has partnered with author, TV host and producer Andy Cohen to “Save Your Resolutions” with money-saving incentives, particularly a membership sign-up offer. Cohen, since 2018, has co-hosted CNN’s New Year’s Eve coverage with Anderson Cooper.
Consumers who enroll in an annual $98 Walmart+ membership through January 31 will receive $50 in Walmart Cash deposited directly into their Walmart app digital wallets. They can instantly redeem Walmart Cash for almost all in-store or online purchases on the retailer’s site with the stated purpose of helping members stick to their goals.
As part of the pitch, Walmart links resolution-related products with membership benefits such as no-change deliveries. For example, members can get the wellness products for their resolutions delivered to their homes.
“Walmart+ is more than just a membership,” said Venessa Yates, Walmart+ senior vice president and general manager. “It’s the perfect way to help make life easier and more affordable all year long. Walmart+ is your ticket to help you achieve your goals, whether it’s saving money, traveling more often, boosting your healthy lifestyle or the gift of free time.
