Walmart is raising store manager pay and reconstituting the associated bonus structure with more focus on profits.
In a note sent to Walmart U.S. store managers, Cedric Clark, executive vice president, store operations, Walmart U.S., stated the average salary for store managers would increase from $117,000 to $128,000 a year.
At the same time, the company intends to update the store manager bonus program. Although sales still count, store profits will play a bigger role in calculating annual bonuses. Managers who hit all targets could now get up to 200% of their base salaries, Clark noted.
