With its early season Kickoff event over, Walmart is preparing for the holidays with deals and services meant to make it a happier time even for people experiencing economic stress.
Starting November 1, Walmart will offer traditional Thanksgiving meal items at a price lower than last year, making it easier and more affordable for customers to set their holiday table. The company plans on delivering exceptional value throughout the holidays, no matter when, where or how customers shop, Walmart asserted. It is offering deeper savings with more frequent deals on top of the company’s Every Day Low Price positioning as well as an expanded assortment of gifts from top brands.
Walmart will deliver deeper savings on the most popular gifts across home, apparel, beauty, electronics and toys, the company indicated. Not only will the retailer offer more products, but Walmart also will introduce new brands and additional exclusives. In addition, consumers can shop Walmart.com to find low prices on hundreds of millions of items including gifts from brands such as Carote Cookware, Dyson, Michael Kors, Reebok, Samsung, Sony and Vitamix, the company noted. Walmart has updated the company website and improved its search function to give customers “hyper-personalized” experiences, the retailer maintained, as well as dedicated and curated Brand Shops and Brand Shelves.
Walmart also will move to ensure everyone has an easier shopping experience with expanded pickup and delivery options. The company has established an expanded suite of pickup and delivery options that prioritize speed and convenience, including late-night Express Delivery until 10 p.m. and On-Demand Delivery slots for flexibility.
Walmart just opened a new 1.5 million-square-foot fulfillment center in Lancaster, TX, 15 miles south of Dallas, its third version of the company’s recently developed next-generation FCs.
“Saving money remains a top priority for our customers, and this holiday season, we’re building on the investments we made last year knowing they need it now more than ever,” said John Furner, president and CEO, Walmart U.S., in announcing the holiday plans. “We’re better positioned than ever before to deliver on our purpose, to help customers save money and live better, especially during the most exciting time of the year. We’re ready to deliver the omni-shopping experience we know our customers want and need. It’s going to be a great holiday season at Walmart.”
