Walmart Marketplace Summit Spotlights AI Tools, Consumer Connections

Walmart, at its 2025 Let’s Grow! Marketplace Seller Summit, introduced new AI-powered tools and seller incentives with the goal of helping its third-party partners grow faster, operate more efficiently and reach more customers.

The retailer also provided insights into the expansion of next-day delivery in major metro areas and enhanced omnichannel opportunities, including the showcasing of marketplace items in stores.

Walmart announced a suite of tools and initiatives designed to accelerate seller growth, expand international reach and deliver better omnichannel capabilities as the company said it reinforced its commitment to marketplace integrity and exceptional customer experiences. Walmart reported it is providing AI-powered tools formulated to simplify operations, save time and increase sales shaped by seller feedback. The intent is to help sellers optimize every part of their businesses, from listing products faster to managing operations more efficiently and engaging customers with confidence, Walmart noted.

Among the tools Walmart cited:

  • AI-Powered Listing Tool and Smart Assistant. Single and bulk item setups that reduce time to market and increase conversion rates. In addition, the Smart Assistant provides 24/7 real-time support.
  • Seller Advisors Program. A direct line of feedback to Walmart leaders, the program spans categories, regions and business sizes. Feedback and insights can aid sellers in co-creating effective programs and solutions, fostering marketplace integrity and a healthy business ecosystem.
  • Shipping Settings and Services. Sellers who self-fulfill can automate delivery promises by region, offering customers more such pledges.
  • Brand Portal. Protects brands and flags fraudulent activity with an enhanced focus on product authenticity.

New incentives were established to help sellers compete during the peak holiday shopping season and win more business, including 0% referral fee on all qualifying toys; 50% referral fee reduction on all qualifying pet supplies; and up to 100% referral fee reductions on qualifying top-selling items across categories. By pairing the latest technology and targeted incentives, Walmart said, the company is aiding sellers in operating more efficiently, standing out in competitive categories and meeting customer demand, especially during the holiday season.

Te company announced during the marketplace summit Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) now offers expanded next-day delivery coverage in major cities across the United States, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston and Atlanta. WFS helps sellers streamline fulfillment at rates about 15% less on average than competitors, Walmart maintained, adding that WFS sellers, on average, see a 50% lift in gross merchandise volume on items tagged Walmart Fulfilled and 2-Day Shipping. Sellers can use WFS to fulfill orders from their own websites, social media shops and other marketplaces. In addition, Walmart offers sellers access to multiple marketplaces, including those operating in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Chile, along with the chance to tap tools such as Walmart Connect 3P Sponsored Ads to help boost visibility and sales.

As for physical presence, in April, the new Walmart location in Cypress, TX posted digital QR codes throughout the store, allowing customers to access digital tools, services and extended online assortments, including marketplace items displayed in the store. Customers can buy them through the Walmart app and, in some cases, have their purchases professionally installed.
