As the new school year approaches, Walmart is updating its back-to-the-classroom promotions to make shopping affordable, easy and fun, the company asserted.
According to Walmart, the initiatives include:
- The destination for return to campus needs. Assortments to satisfy college dorm, classroom and closet requirements.
- Ways to make small spaces pop. Products from brands such as Walmart’s own Mainstays include tie-dye bedding, accent rugs and fun finds such as Urban Shop’s novelty mushroom lamps that can give lesser spaces more personality.
- Shop this year’s school supplies at last year’s prices. Walmart will offer the school supply basket at the same prices as last year, one that features the most common classroom essentials, like Pen + Gear composition notebooks, at 50 cents, and Sterilite plastic pencil boxes at 97 cents.
- More ways to save without compromise. A range of stylish items from Free Assembly by Brandon Maxwell, Justice, Wonder Nation, Claire’s, Reebok, No Boundaries and other top private and national brands.
- Low prices on backpacks. Backpacks for all ages start at $6.
- Digital tools and services. A new Classroom Registry and other back-to-school online aids will provide easy and more personalized ways for teachers and families to save money, and for local communities to give back to their schools.
- School Supply List. Product line-ups as curated by school districts and/or individual teachers.
- Spark Good Registry and Round Up. Public and private schools can create a nonprofit account to begin receiving tax-deductible donations via Spark Good Registry and Round Up, which give customers the opportunity to donate to local schools.
- One-stop-shop for a healthy and convenient school year start. Families can affordably refill prescriptions, address physical and vision health needs, and get back-to-school vaccines at more than 4,600 Walmart pharmacies and more than 2,800 Walmart vision centers across the United States.
- Creating a more inclusive shopping experience. Providing customers who live with sensory disabilities a quieter store environment on Saturdays in July and throughout August from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. in most locations, with sensory-friendly hours beginning July 22 in areas where school starts after Labor Day.
