On March 28, Walgreens Boots Alliance will hold a Supplier Diversity Summit, a virtual showcase where businesses at least 51% owned, operated or managed by people who are disadvantaged, disabled, military veterans, LGBTQ+, minorities or women can share their retail offerings.
The virtual event will give diverse vendors from across the United States the opportunity to connect with the Walgreens merchandising team, demonstrate products and receive feedback with the ultimate goal of being stocked on the company’s shelves in their local areas, the company noted. Product categories the summit will cover include grocery and household, beauty and personal care, health and wellness, and general merchandise.
In working with Walgreens, RangeMe will accept sourcing and product submissions from all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. ECRM will qualify suppliers, establish curated meeting schedules, and facilitate face-to-face virtual meetings with Walgreens buyers. All meetings will occur on ECRM’s virtual meeting platform, ECRM Connect.
“Meeting the needs of our diverse patients and customers is imperative to our role as America’s community healthcare destination,” said Alethia Jackson, Walgreens senior vp of environmental, social and governance and chief diversity, equity and inclusion office, in announcing the summit. “We are looking forward to connecting with diverse suppliers that will ensure our shelves benefit everyone, providing a wider selection of products and services.”
