The Cook’s Warehouse, an award-winning gourmet retailer and cooking school in Atlanta, is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a special event, Friday, March 14, at the store’s flagship Ansley Mall location.
The celebration at the store, at 1544 Piedmont Ave. NE, Atlanta, is set for 6 to 9 p.m. and is open to all. The festivities include wine tastings from Sarah Pierre of 3 Parks Wine Shop; culinary demonstrations from chefs including Melissa Pelkey-Hass and Ami Dand; and product demonstrations from vendors such as Shun, Jura, Gozney, Zwilling and Made In. The celebration will also include plus giveaways and a special anniversary sale.
Founded by former professional chef Mary Moore (pictured above) in 1995, The Cook’s Warehouse now boasts a larger footprint at the flagship store, a strong e-commerce business to complement its retail offerings, customized private events and more than 350 cooking demonstrations and hands-on classes held annually at the Ansley Mall retail shop, Moore said.
“I started out wanting to sell great tools and teach customers how to cook to bring people together around the table, and even after 30 years, that mission has not changed,” Moore added. “Our goal is to ensure every customer leaves happier than when they came through the door and help them share that happiness with others through cooking. It’s simple, but it’s fulfilling. It’s been a very soulful journey.”
Moore added, “We have shoppers who have been with us since the beginning, and now their children and grandchildren are learning to cook with us. I love it when customers tell me that my team knows exactly how to help them choose the right kitchen tools and create their meals. Being a part of this big community and providing a solution to people looking for fun in their lives feels really good.”
Moore was one of the first retailers in the United States to carry Jura coffee machines and Shun knives. “The gear we sell has evolved, and we still carry many of the same incredible brands that we always have like Le Creuset, Wüsthof and All-Clad.”
“We are always on the hunt to find the latest and greatest tools and gadgets–some things never change! But we carry a much larger tabletop and barware assortment now, and our online inventory is always growing so we can bring our offerings to the rest of the country,” Moore said.
