Target Corp. is kicking off the holiday season early than it normally does by slating its Target Deal Days promotion for October.
Over three days, the company announced, it will launch deals online, through the Target App and, for the first time, at all Target stores. In addition, the retailer is introducing what it characterizes as a new, industry-leading Holiday Price Match Guarantee that also includes an early start.
From October 10 through 12, consumers, however they shop, will find Deal Days bargains on kitchen appliances, vacuums, televisions, Beats headphones, fleece, video games, food and beverage offerings, and other product categories. This Target Deal Days sales event will feature thousands of items across every product segment the retailer carries, with national brands and brands that are exclusive to the retailer included.
The Holiday Price Match Guarantee will initiate earlier this year than previously beginning at the same time as Deal Days on October 10. With a run through December 24, the guarantee this year will allow consumers to request a price adjustment on all items purchased during the active period if the retailer lowers a price later in the season, taking the stress and guesswork out of deal hunting. As part of its existing policy, Target will continue to match select competitors’ pricing within 14 days of purchase.
“As we approach the holiday season, guests are excited to shop early, and our team is ready to help them prepare so they can celebrate what matters most, time with family and friends,” said Christina Hennington, evp and chief growth officer, Target, in announcing the holiday initiatives. “That’s why we’re bringing back Target Deal Days, offering incredible value earlier than ever, and making the shopping experience even easier with deals available online, through the Target App and in our more than 1,900 stores for the first time. We’re also introducing a new, industry-leading Holiday Price Match Guarantee, all designed to provide guests with the confidence they’re getting the best deals at Target, no matter when they choose to shop.”
Retailers have been discussing earlier events to generate early shipping and help them deal with supply chain disruptions traced back to the COVID-19 pandemic and other trans-oceanic and trucking issues. As part of its effort to get ready for the 2021 holiday season, Target has gone so far as to lease a container vessel to ensure its flow of goods for the holidays.
