Target is running its big post-Christmas clearance sale across departments, including home, and has launched a new designer collection for Lunar New Year.
Dubbed The Target Clearance Run, the post-Christmas sale includes discounts such as up to 50% off home merchandise, clothing, shoes, toys and beauty, the company noted. The deals include up to 50% off select home décor, including holiday-oriented items, and up to 40% off select floor care including products from iRobot and Shark. However, as it begins winding down the holiday season, Target also is offering bargains on other home segments ranging from serveware and aroma therapy to home storage and furniture as part of the clearance mix.
Target designed its Lunar New Year collection with San Francisco-based illustrator Christina Tan. It incorporates her penchant for loud color combinations, noisy patterns and classic cartoons across various festive products. Celebrated across East Asia and getting more attention as a holiday in the United States, Lunar New Year falls on January 22 this year and begins the Year of the Rabbit as designated by the Chinese zodiac.
The collection includes a Lunar New Year 5-piece stoneware dragon-design tea infuser teapot and cup set priced at $35, a two-pack of paper flower hanging lanterns in red and yellow, priced at $5, a 10-ounce stoneware rice bowl in yellow and orange with a fruit motif pattern priced at $4, a 24-ounce stoneware noodle bowl in red and yellow with a floral design priced at $6 and an 87-ounce melamine serving tub with lid in red embellished by floral and dragon motifs, and Chinese characters.
