Target Corp. has kicked off its back-to-school campaign by showcasing savings on must-have school supplies and its premium paid loyalty program.
Back-to-school deals include a discounted fee to join the company’s step-up Target Circle 360 loyalty program, and Target also is using the occasion to announce a new way to pay for consumer memberships in general.
During the back-to-the-classroom shopping period, Target is encouraging consumers to check out products under its own brands, such as Cat & Jack, Art Class, Mondo Llama, Room Essentials and Brightroom, as well as national brands including Crayola and Jansport, the company stated.
A 20-for-$20 supplies list focuses on school essentials, such as backpacks, notebooks and writing tools. Target pointed out it also will offer thousands of back-to-college essentials for less than $20, including bed, bath, kitchen and storage items.
For the 2024 back-to-the-classroom season, the company is offering a promotional Target Circle 360 membership, a paid level above its free basic loyalty program. Target Circle 360 membership for verified students, in a deal going into effect July 14, includes unlimited same-day delivery on orders of more than $35, access to the Shipt marketplace and additional benefits at a $4.99 per-month charge for the first year. Target also announced the Target Circle 360 membership fee structure for all consumers will change as it adds the option of paying $10.99 per month for the additional aforementioned offers, also beginning July 14, in addition to meeting the existing $99 annual charge for membership.
Teachers can sign up for Target Circle 360 between July 14 and August 24 and get same-day delivery at a $49 rate in the first year. From July 14, Target will offer a one-time 20% teacher and college student appreciation discount for verified students and teachers who are Target Circle members. The teachers discount lasts through August 24, Target noted, while the college students discount continues until September 28.
In addition, the company is running its Target Circle Week promotion through July 13. Among other things, the event features 30% off select school supplies.
