Among its initiatives in the holiday season, Target Corp. will reduce regular prices on more than 2,000 items across private label and national brands, including home products that help consumers prepare for and navigate the seasons, food and beverages, everyday essentials and holiday gifts.
Target has already been rolling out products for the festive season. Among the initiatives launched, the company’s website features the John Derian for Target collection, one that offers a range of products for Thanksgiving festivities, including tabletop, home decor, candles and even a beaded turkey novelty plush pillow. Derian looks to vintage illustrations, including 18th and 19th-century imagery of the natural world, to inspire his designs. Target asserted that the limited-time collection can dress up a home but also works for holiday gift-giving.
Target stated that the new price reductions are on top of the retailer’s low everyday prices. In May, the company announced that it would cut prices on about 5,000 items but has wound up lowering prices on more than 8,000 total items year to date. By the holiday season’s end, Target maintained that it will have lowered prices on more than 10,000 items in 2024.
Examples of the price cuts include the Magic Bullet Personal Blender Set Target being reduced to $39.99 from $49.99.
Along with the new everyday low prices, Target is making the holidays more affordable with season-long deals and a wide range of options for gifting and gathering, including its largest holiday assortment ever, the company noted. Deals cover thousands of products, including a large assortment of toys with over half under $20, exclusive products from owned and national brands, and $5 and $10 essentials.
The new round of 2,000 price cuts Target announced doesn’t apply in Alaska or Hawaii.
“We know families are excited to celebrate the holidays, so Target is committed to helping them find joy without compromise with great products across our assortment at even lower prices,” Rick Gomez, Target executive vice president and chief commercial officer, said in announcing the price cuts. “From meal prep and gifting to everyday needs, Target’s offering the kind of exceptional value that’ll make it even easier for everyone to save money as they embrace the magic of the season.”
