In response to customer feedback, Staples has transformed its loyalty program and is relaunching it under the banner Easy Rewards, with a special savings event on February 29.
The loyalty program is free to join and makes it easy for customers to earn and redeem points in stores, online at Staples.com and in the Staples mobile app, the company added. It is also a means of identifying customer trends and preferences for its own research, analytics, and customer retention efforts. Members earn one point per $1 spent on qualifying purchases and get twice as many or more points on the three bonus points categories they buy most. They also earn points on eligible services, including recycling, and get exclusive access to special savings events and member-only offers every day.
Easy Rewards members can redeem points to save on qualifying purchases at checkout as well as track points and purchases on a dedicated dashboard located in the Staples App or at Staples.com/easy.
To celebrate the Easy Rewards launch, Staples is offering Leap Day deals for Easy Rewards members, valid only on February 29. The deals include access to a 29,000 passport photo giveaway available across the United States, which continues through the day until it reaches that number of takers. They also include giving members 29 times points when they spend $29 or more in-store and at Staples.com on the date.
“Staples has a long history of looking for ways to make our customers’ lives easier,” said Ory Adler, Staples vp, digital and loyalty, announcing the program revamp. “So, when they asked us for a different kind of loyalty program, we listened. Easy Rewards is the ultimate personalized shopping experience, delivering tremendous savings and value to every customer because it’s built around their unique preferences. Whether you’re ordering business essentials, technology or prints, purchasing classroom supplies on the go, or shopping for travel essentials, Easy works for you.”
