Shipt, the Target-owned delivery service operator, has struck a deal with Continental Properties that will make it, in essence, a free amenity for its partner’s lessees.
The deal suggests that home delivery of groceries, consumables and general merchandise, as it is developing in the marketplace, can evolve in a number of new ways as it becomes a more mainstream service.
Continental Properties, developer and operator of Springs Apartments, will provide free Shipt memberships to current residents of 60 complexe the company operates in Colorado, Texas, Illinois, and Florida. Residents will have access to unlimited free delivery for the duration of their lease terms.
In response to a HomePage News question, a Shipt spokesperson explained that any Continental community that has residents will have the Shipt amenity. Currently, Continental has 60 communities that have residents with more under construction or are in a non-resident lease-up phase. As they move into those properties, residents will receive the Shipt delivery amenity. Every resident will have access to the Shipt amenity regardless of the lease term or type.
