Ikea U.S. is reporting sales gains and plans to expand its Plan and Order Points with Pick-Up locations and stores considerably smaller than its showroom format dedicated to kitchen, bedroom, and living room planning.
As for expansion, Ikea U.S. is readying new Plan and Order Points with Pick-up in Austin, Texas, as well as metro Atlanta and greater Los Angeles, where the company will operate two locations. The Austin Plan and Order Point with Pick-up will become the second Ikea location in the Austin area, with its opening planned for this summer in the Domain Shopping Center.
The Plan and Order Points with Pick-up stores will increase accessibility for customers without compromising on quality or design, Ikea maintained. The new, smaller format stores offer support from Ikea experts in planning and ordering home furnishing solutions for kitchen, bedroom and bathroom challenges, the company added.
Beyond those four locations, Ikea intends to follow up with new Plan and Order Points with Pick-up operations in Annapolis and Gaithersburg, MD, and Katy, TX.
“As we look back at the past year, I’m proud of the progress we’ve made in reducing our environmental impact and keeping affordability and accessibility at the forefront for all our customers,” said Javier Quiñones, Ikea U.S. CEO and chief sustainability officer, in announcing the sales results and expansion initiative. “Looking ahead, we are excited about our plans for new locations and services, bringing the joy of Ikea to more hearts and homes. Creating a home you love is about to get even simpler for everyone.”
