Ross Stores is planning store openings in markets across the United States on July 19, with single and multiple new locations coming in the specified markets.
The July 19 store openings will all occur under the company’s Ross Dress for Less banner. In the New York City metro area, Ross is opening stores in Hempstead, NY, on Long Island, and in Long Branch and Brick in New Jersey. At the same time, the company is debuting Minnesota locations in Woodbury and Savage in the Minneapolis/St. Paul market,
The off-pricer retailer is preparing to open two stores in California, one on Market Street in San Francisco and the other in Anaheim. Company plans call for July 19 single-store debuts in Adrian, MI, near Toledo, OH, and Clovis, NM.
In a conference call about the company’s first-quarter results, Ross stated it had opened 16 new Ross Dress for Less and three dd’s Discounts locations during the first quarter. Ross intends to bring about 90 new stores into operation this year: 80 Dress for Less locations and 10 dd’s locations. Plans also call for Ross to close or relocate 10 to 15 older stores.
