Ross Stores has appointed Stephen Brinkley to the newly created position of president, operations.
In his new role, the company stated, Brinkley will report to Michael Hartshorn, group president and COO, and oversee property development, stores and supply chain. Ross finance, human resources, legal, marketing, strategy and technology organizations will continue reporting directly to Hartshorn.
Brinkley was president of SportChek, a subsidiary of Canadian Tire Corp. that sells sporting goods, footwear and apparel from more than 400 locations across Canada. Brinkley also has experience with Save A Lot, Target and Circuit City, Ross reported.
In announcing the appointment, Hartshorn said, “We are delighted to have Stephen join our senior management team. He brings a wealth of retail leadership experience that will be a valuable resource in driving long-term profitable growth for the company.”
