Restoration Hardware, continuing its expansion strategy, announced the opening of RH Montecito (CA): The Gallery at The Old Firehouse.
The 9,000-square-foot California store in the enclave just north of Santa Barbara is what RH characterizes as a reimagination of an historic fire house. In addition to furnishings, the historic building will incorporate the RH Firehouse Grill, an indoor-outdoor Courtyard Restaurant with fireplaces and fountains; a Wine & Barista Bar; and an Interior Design Atelier where customers can research products.
Shoppers at RH Montecito (pictured above) can pass glass-and-steel doors open onto a French sandstone courtyard to check out RH Outdoor, and they can climb to the upper level to find RH Interior Design for comprehensive professional design services.
“We have long admired this iconic building and its rich history,” said RH Chairman and CEO Gary Friedman. “With great respect for the original architecture, we are reestablishing its relevance by harmoniously incorporating aspirational interior and exterior installations with an integrated hospitality concept unlike anything that exists in retail.”
The company also has opened RH Interior Design Palm Desert in inland California. The Palm Desert location is the first standalone RH Interior Design. The full-service office represents the first phase in Restoration Hardware’s strategy of creating a comprehensive design ecosystem in the region, the company noted.
The new stores follow close on the December opening opening of RH Newport Beach, the company’s largest gallery to date, with more than 90,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space. The location replaces three legacy RH galleries in the region.
Friedman called the Newport Beach gallery “one of our most dramatic, immersive and brand-defining physical locations to date. The Gallery reflects our quest to continue revolutionizing physical retailing, blurring the lines between residential and retail, indoors and outdoors, home and hospitality, and we are proud to introduce this inspiring destination in the Southern California market.
