As its broadens operations across media, Qurate Retail has officially changed its name to QVC Group, with the new name incorporating the equity of the company’s largest brand.
The name change to QVC Group also signals the evolution of the company’s growth strategy, focused on expanding into a live social shopping enterprise.
QVC Group continues to support what were Qurate’s banners: QVC, HSN, Ballard Designs, Frontgate, Garnet Hill and Grandin Road. The company’s stock will be trading under the new stock symbols QVCGA, QVCGB and QVCGP.
QVC Group is redefining its shopping experience through video-driven commerce on every screen, from smartphones and tablets to laptops and TVs, the company noted. QVC Group plans to deliver products and content in an entertaining approach via social platforms, streaming apps, e-commerce sites and TV channels, the company reported.
“This rebranding is an important milestone in our nearly 50-year evolution as a collection of leading retail brands,” said David Rawlinson II, president and CEO, QVC Group. “From the beginning, we’ve been the innovators in live video shopping: first on cable TV, then on ecommerce and mobile. Now, once again, we’re reimagining our company to grow in new places by leaning into streaming and social.”
