Williams-Sonoma is rolling out a new collection developed with interior designer Sarah Sherman Samuel across its Pottery Barn Kids, Pottery Barn Teen and West Elm Kids banners.
The new multi-brand collaboration is Samuel’s first home furnishings partnership in the children’s market, according to Williams-Sonoma. Each piece in the co-branded collections incorporates Samuel’s whimsical yet modern aesthetic and the safety, sustainability and craftsmanship standards of the West Elm Kids, Pottery Barn Kids and Pottery Barn Teen brands, Williams-Sonoma stated. Available currently, the collection includes furniture, accessories and textiles.
Samuel drew inspiration for the collaboration from the two places she has called home — the desert and the forest. The result is textural, abstract pieces in unique shapes and colors, Williams-Sonoma noted. And her experience as a mother inspired her, too, as she turned to the color palettes in her own children’s bedrooms in pieces like the sand-toned bunk bed. Geometric patterns, curved lines and hand-drawn scallop detailing provide a softness and welcome to the eye. To suit individual tastes, Williams-Sonoma maintained, each design gives kids and teens the opportunity to mix and match to establish spaces that are both artful and modern.
“Landscapes and the soft shapes found in nature-inspired both the design silhouettes and thoughtful materials for this collaboration,” said Allison Spampanato, Pottery Barn Kids and Pottery Barn Teen senior vice president, product development. “Pottery Barn Kids and Pottery Barn Teen have a deeply rooted commitment to designing pieces that are better for people and the planet. The collection includes organic cotton, Greenguard gold certified furniture and supports responsible forest management using FSC-certified wood.”
