Market researcher Numerator stated it issued a survey within 24 hours of Amazon’s announcement last week that its Prime Day promotional event would run from July 11 to 12, and found that 44% of respondents already knew when it would occur.
When asked what if anything might prevent them from shopping this year, the top reasons were: nothing I want is on sale, at 34%, trying to save money, at 29%, prices aren’t low enough, at 28%, and I don’t have spare money right now, at 22%.
Numerator indicated that other results of the survey on Amazon’s big day include:
35% of consumers said they do not plan on shopping any other retailer promotions on Prime Day while 17% said they do plan to shop sales in addition to theAmazon event.
34% of Prime Day shoppers plan to compare prices of items on sale with other retailers, 25% plan to research items that they would like to purchase prior to Prime Day and 16% plan on purchasing items they identify beforehand and shopping lightning deals.
25% of consumers believe the Prime Day deals have become more valuable over time, 24% believe they have remained at the same level of value and 16% believe they have become less valuable
