Meijer announced it plans to open three new 159,000-square-foot supercenters in Northeast Ohio on May 8, increasing the retailer’s store count in the state to 58.
As Meijer continues to expand in the United States Midwest, the supercenters, located in Austintown, Medina and Richmond Heights, will combine general merchandise — including home goods, electronics, pet supplies, pharmacy, health and beauty aids, toys, sporting goods and apparel — with fresh food and grocery. The Austintown store also will feature an adjacent Meijer Express gas station and convenience store, which opens on April 10. Meijer also slated three supercenter openings for May 2024.
“We’re investing heavily to serve the Northeast Ohio community and consistently receiving positive feedback about our value and convenience,” said Todd Anderson, Meijer vice president of the Ohio region. “Ohio was the first state we expanded to outside of Michigan, and we look forward to continuing that growth this year and into the future.
