Macy’s Names Edwards COO/CFO Amid Executive Shakeup

Adrian Mitchell is leaving Macy’s as the company reconfigures its executive suite, naming Thomas Edwards to replace him as COO and CFO in the process.

In the new executive alignment, Barbie Cameron, Macy’s chief stores officer, will report directly to chairman and CEO Tony Spring, the company reported. Maly Bernstein, CEO of Bluemercury, will report to Bloomingdale’s CEO Olivier Bron.

Edwards has been the Capri Holdings Ltd. COO and CFO responsible for the acquisition and integration of global fashion brands Versace and Jimmy Choo, Macy’s maintained. There, he implemented shared systems and capabilities and generated significant savings across brands, functions and regions. Before joining Capri, Edwards was executive vice president and CFO of Chili’s owner Brinker International.

Cameron will begin reporting directly to Spring on June 22. Macy’s appointed her chief stores officer on February 16 to lead store operations across the Macy’s nameplate. Bernstein will begin reporting directly to Bron on May 1, charged with accelerating growth and connectivity across the Bloomingdale’s and Bluemercury luxury nameplates.

Mitchell will serve as COO and CFO through June 21, and Bron will take over the role on June 22, Macy’s stated.

“With these changes, we complete a purposeful evolution of the Macy’s, Inc. leadership team, and I am confident that we have the right talent to support the return of Macy’s, Inc. to enterprise growth,” Spring said, announcing the executive transitions.
