Macy’s pins much of its reputation and public position on its holiday initiatives. And this year, it will again invest in iconic events, whimsical window displays, unique shopping experiences and trending gifts while also showcasing a curated collection of fresh, exclusive merchandise and new brands presented to offer differentiated value across all categories.
Macy’s is curating gifts storewide in a way that makes the entire holiday shopping experience seamless, the company asserted. Macy’s shoppers can tap a Top 100 Holiday Gifts selection, as well as assortments developed to address consumer needs across gift giving and entertaining, shwowcasing such brands as Breville, De’Longhi, SMEG, Le Creuset and Bella.
At its flagship Herald Square store this season, Macy’s is rolling out its first-ever Holiday Square by Urbanspace on November 1, the company noted. Through January 3, 2025, Urbanspace, the creator of New York City’s Holiday Shops at Bryant Park Winter Village, Union Square Holiday Market and Columbus Circle Holiday Market, will operate an immersive experience including an array of merchandise including holiday gifts in addition to food and beverage offerings from more than 30 local businesses. Shoppers can also choose from personalized ornaments, jewelry, handmade stationery, candles, decorative accessories and other items that can elevate their holiday celebrations. From December 6 through January 3, an Urbanspace Herald Holiday Market will operate outside Macy’s, the company added.
Macy’s also will have a presence at The Holiday Shops at Bryant Park in one of its iconic glass houses purveying Thanksgiving Day parade products and gifting items
The 98th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, airing on NBC television and its and Peacock streaming service, will welcome the holiday season on November 28 with its lineup of featured character balloons, floats, marching bands, performances, clowns and, at the climax, Santa Claus.
As part of the holiday push, Macy’s Santaland, incorporating a Santa’s Village and Workshop presentation, will open for in-store visits at Macy’s on State Street in Chicago on November 2, and at Macy’s Herald Square in New York, Macy’s Center City in Philadelphia and Macy’s Union Square in San Francisco on November 29.
Macy’s famous holiday windows, a tradition since 1874, once again will entertain passersby with goods, characters and animation. The retailer’s Great Tree, Christmas Light Show and Dickens Village will provide consumers with unique and classic holiday experiences on State Street in Chicago and Union Square in San Francisco, Macy’s indicated. At Macy’s Center City in Philadelphia, the iconic Dickens Village and Christmas Light Show returns November 29.
