Lowe’s Cos., seeking to bolster its key spring sales period, has established a partnership with DoorDash among other seasonal programs.
With the DoorDash deal, Lowe’s will offer on-demand delivery from its more than 1,700 stores across the United States, including through the partner’s platform. The partnership is the first DoorDash move into the home improvement category, the company noted and builds on the significant product selection consumers can purchase directly from its platform. As such, the deal expands consumer access to Lowe’s assortment and boosts the home center operator’s profile, as consumers who prefer to shop directly through the DoorDash app will have a Lowe’s option.
“As Lowe’s continues its omnichannel journey, expanding same-day delivery options helps us meet our customers where they are,” said Neelima Sharma, Lowe’s senior vice president, digital commerce and technology. “Our collaboration with DoorDash unlocks an opportunity for us to reach new DIY customers who are shopping directly on the DoorDash app, helping them get everything they need for spring.”
Fuad Hannon, vice president, new verticals at DoorDash, added, “We’re excited to welcome Lowe’s to DoorDash as our first national home improvement retailer. Just in time for spring, consumers can shop for everything from gardening tools to spring cleaning essentials. Lowe’s is also the go-to store for DIY customers. Our partnership enables consumers with quick access to must-have tools and last-minute materials to complete projects of all sizes. With Lowe’s on the marketplace, we add to the great selection of everyday essentials that consumers rely on for on-demand delivery on DoorDash.”
The DoorDash deal follows agreements by Lowe’s with Shipt and Instacart to expand its delivery capability.
Lowe’s recently introduced what it called Sneak Peak deals for customers and professionals getting ready for their spring home projects. Now, the company is ready to take the promotion larger.
Lowe’s will roll out its first-ever SpringFest Doorbusters promotion on April 4 and continue it through May 1 to provide more customer savings. The promotion will cover categories ranging from power tools and lawn care to appliances and décor. Deals will include up to 35% off plus $150 off every $1,500 shopper spend on select appliances.
In addition, Lowe’s reported its new loyalty program for homeowners, MyLowe’s Rewards, is now available nationwide. MyLowe’s Rewards offers benefits such as points toward MyLowe’s Money and free standard shipping for members with Silver Key status and above.
