Kohl’s is expanding its in-store-based returns services to service a wider variety of partners. It was originally designed to enhance store traffic from Amazon customers sending back products purchased on the platform.
The company is introducing The Return Drop @ Kohl’s, allowing shoppers to make packages and label-free returns from select retailers and brands at more than 1,100 of its locations nationwide. As part of a new partnership with Inmar Post-Purchase Solutions and returns platform Narvar, Kohl’s will accept returns from brands such as Carhartt at its stores in addition to those from retailers, including Amazon.
Kohl’s asserted that the expanded returns service will enhance the customer experience by offering shoppers convenience while leveraging the strength of Kohl’s national store base and supply chain network.
With The Return Drop @ Kohl’s, consumers initiate a return through the original seller participating in the program. Consumers can select Kohl’s Drop Off to download a QR code powered by Narvar. The QR code can be brought to any Kohl’s store nationwide along with the eligible merchandise; no box or label is required. Kohl’s then forwards the return to Inmar Post-Purchase Solutions, which forwards the merchandise to its final destination.
“Providing shoppers with convenient services is critical to Kohl’s ongoing commitment to the customer experience,” said Gregg Barta, Kohl’s executive vice president of supply chain and logistics, when introducing the service. “Not only will The Return Drop @ Kohl’s remove friction for customers, but it will also provide operational benefits and efficiencies to participating retailers and brands.”
