Ikea Adding Texas Stores, Rolls Out Latest ‘Stockholm’ Collection

Posted In: Retail Articles

Ikea has plans for Texas as it readies three diverse store openings and is rolling out a new Stockholm collection with products suitable for use throughout the home, especially living/family and dining rooms.

As it continues its expansion in the United States, Ikea U.S. has announced that it will open a new 63,000 square foot city store in Dallas, TX, late this year. The two-level city format location will mix ordering for delivery and take away, stocking a limited range of classic Ikea products, the company noted. Ikea also plans to open a full-sized 108,875 square foot showroom in Rockwall, TX, and a 35,000 square foot small store in San Marco, TX, in a format that’s similar to but more limited in scope to the location that will operate in Dallas.

News on the store openings comes as Ikea has launched an additional range of new products in its eighth Stockholm collection, each of which has been designed to provide high-quality modern Scandinavian design at an affordable price. The latest 96-piece Stockholm collection is the company’s largest to date, Ikea noted, and includes a diverse range of homewares including furniture, textiles, lighting and accessories as well as tabletop and serveware ranging in price from a $3.99 no-handle mug to a $19.99 hand-blown glass carafe to a $89.99 black 20-piece flatware set.
