Although it still holds out hope for rescue, Hudson’s Bay Co. stated it would liquidate its remaining six Hudson’s Bay stores and one Saks Fifth Avenue location.
Hudson’s Bay stated that a viable bid for its current six-store organization is unlikely, so it has begun liquidation sales. The company had previously begun liquidations at 73 namesake, 13 Saks Off 5th and two Saks Fifth Avenue locations in Canada. The liquidations don’t affect stores in the United States that had previously been affiliated with the company.
Should it receive a bid, Hudson’s Bay retained the ability to withdraw the six stores, or other stores, from the liquidation sales underway, with an April 30 deadline for the submissions.
