The Home Depot is running a pair of spring savings event while releasing results of a study on how consumers are prioritizing spring projects.

In its Spring Black Friday savings event April 3-16, The Home Depot is offering in-store and online deals on a range of products, including cleaning, organization and patio products. In addition, consumers will find bargains on products to support outdoor lifestyles at home, as well as exclusive one-day-only deals through Home Depot’s Spring Deal Days event, April 24-May 7.

In its consumer study, “What Are You Working On? — Spring Project Report,” The Home Depot pointed to key results:

  • Cleaning is Good for the Soul. As the weather turns, 65% of homeowners and renters participating in the study said they actually look forward to spring cleaning, with 85% saying it benefits their mental health and well-being, and 80% saying they feel a sense of accomplishment once it’s done.
  • Planting Happiness. Among those planning gardening projects, 68% of consumers said planting and gardening make them happy, and 65% said they believe garden work benefits their health and wellness.
  • Mastering the Grill. With the popularity of outdoor dining, 62% of homeowners and renters grill year’-round, with 61% doing so even during winter holidays, yet many homeowners thine of grilling as a team sport with one person in five saying they would grill more often if it meant they would could gather with friends and family.
  • Cutting the Cord. Among people planning to use power tools, 76% of consumers prefer cordless tools.

Broken down by region, the report demonstrates somewhat different priorities. Consumers in the West want to refresh grill accessories, among actions and may consider a second grill or a wood-fired pizza oven. Those two priorities show up in the Northeast as well, while the Midwest is more focused on gardening projects. In the Southwest, consumers are more focused on grill cleaning and pest control and those in the Southeast want to explore new prime grill types while emphasizing pest control and hardwood floor cleaning.

Home Depot recently launched Magic Apron, an AI tool to help customers get their spring projects completed by answering questions, providing project guides and summarizing product reviews. Magic Apron taps Home Depot’s extensive proprietary knowledge base and human expertise to make the AI tool more accurate, reliable and helpful, continually learning from customer and associate feedback to make it a better resource for spring projects and beyond, the company added.

“Spring is a season of renewal, and we’re here to help customers tackle their projects with confidence,” said Billy Bastek, Home Depot executive vice president of merchandising. “Seventy-six percent of people surveyed said spring projects help cure spring fever, so we’re excited to offer the tools, products and expert advice needed to refresh homes and gardens.”
