The Target April Circle Week Sale promotion generated 7% more sales than the weekly average in the previous four weeks according to Earnest credit card data.
The number represents a two-point acceleration in the Circle sale’s contribution to the Target topline compared to the company’s October sale.
Target Circle, the retailer’s free loyalty program, provides members with exclusive benefits, discounts and free shipping on orders over $35, as well as early access to sales and, as an added perk, member-only participation in Circle promotional events, held several times a year. The Target Circle Week Sale offered members up to 30% off a wide variety of items, including clothing, home goods and electronics, Earnest noted.
The latest Circle Sale represents an increase in the membership program’s contribution to Target revenue since mid-2023. Past sales have coincided with Amazon’s Prime Days, but this time, the Target Circle sale occurred over a week after a similar Amazon promotion, potentially boosting results, Earnst indicated.
