DoorDash will offer deals — from fast food and grocery to experiences and back-to-school merchandise — starting July 21 when it kicks off its third annual Summer of DashPass.
The promotion runs five weeks, DoorDash stated, and it will encompass more than 25,000 member-only bargains.
Summer of DashPass is another example of delivery companies taking on new roles in partnership with retailers as well as developing programs to support customer sales, as in the case of promotions. According to DoorDash, the summer promotion will provide customers with more than $40 million in savings from nationwide favorites and local businesses. In recent months, DoorDash has entered new and expanded delivery agreements with additional retailers including BJ’s Wholesale Club and Bad Bath & Beyond as well as Dollar General.
The DoorDash membership program includes free delivery, reduced service fees and member-only benefits on eligible orders. During the Summer of DashPass promotion, consumers can sign up for the annual plan for $59 a year instead of the usual $96 annual fee. DoorDash also offers a $9.99 monthly fee for consumers who want to pay in installments. Eligible people can sign up for the DashPass for Students program at a discounted rate of $4.99 a month or $48 annually. For the duration of the Summer of DashPass, new members will get 50% off their first order up to $15, DoorDash pointed out.
Students and families can shop the DealDays Back to School New Routines, New Deals promotional period from August 18 to 24, with discounts such as 50% off from Office Depot and OfficeMax, $20 off maximum, as well as 30% off from Grocery Outlet with a minimum purchase of $40, $20 off maximum, and $20 off all other grocery orders of $40 or more. In addition, from August 11 to 17, DoorDash is offering 25% off orders of $30 or more from CVS, $10 off maximum, and from August 4 to 10, 40% off orders of $40 or more from Albertsons, $25 off maximum.
“DoorDash provides access to the best in your neighborhood and a DashPass membership unlocks that access at the most affordable price,” said Christopher Payne, president of DoorDash. “During last year’s Summer of DashPass event, DashPass members saved over $4 million on deals, and we’re proud to partner with national and local businesses to provide access to more than $40 million in exclusive savings this year. Our largest Summer of DashPass yet will bring even more value to our members to save on essential items from groceries to school supplies and beyond.”
