Dollar Tree Makes More Executive Changes As It Reviews Family Dollar Plan

Posted In: Retail Articles

Dollar Tree, contemplating the reconstituting of its business, has made additional executive moves that could impact how the company approaches its Dollar Tree and Family Dollar store operations.

The company has promoted Steve Schumacher to executive vice president and chief people officer. A former National Express and Sears executive, Schumacher was Interim chief people officer the past six months and will continue to lead all human resource functions for the Dollar Tree and Family Dollar banners.

Dollar Tree, in addition, has appointed Jocelyn Konrad as chief of Dollar Tree stores and enterprise store operations. She was Family Dollar’s chief of stores, and prior to joining Dollar Tree, she served as executive vice president and chief pharmacy officer at Rite Aid Corp.

Dollar Tree named Jason Nordin, president of Family Dollar stores, for which he will play a leadership role in the banner’s formal review of strategic alternatives. He was formerly Dollar Tree chief of stores and, before that, he was COO of travel center and restaurant operator Pilot Corp.

Dollar Tree recently announced that its chairman and CEO Rick Dreiling would step down from his role and that it had named COO Michael Creedon interim chief executive.
