Dollar General is rolling out its back-to-school/college deals while putting out a call for diverse suppliers.
For back to school, Dollar General is offering low prices and special deals while also providing savings with a DG Digital Coupon that takes $2 off any qualifying school supplies purchase of $10 or more, available select weeks in July, August and September. The company will offer other seasonal DG Digital Coupons online and in the myDG App. There, shoppers can load coupons and rewards on an easy-to-use platform and redeem them at checkout. Dollar General will offer back-to-school shoppers bargains through its weekly savings ads as well. Shoppers can scan products in-store for pricing and to surface available coupons and deals.
In addition, Dollar General noted, students headed to campus this year can purchase products that maximize the usefulness of small spaces and personalize residences with on-trend décor and essentials. A late July Dollar General weekly ad included Bogo deals on small appliances, cookware and food storage as well as bargains on school essentials.
Dollar General is giving teachers a back-to-school break, too. Through September 15, the company is offering a 30% discount on school supplies and housewares.
In its call for diverse suppliers, Dollar General stated its goal is to remove or mitigate unintended barriers for vendors and increase the participation of supply partners from underrepresented demographics. Applications to apply are currently open online at.rangeme.com/dgdiversity23 and will remain accessible through end of day on August 7. Virtual meetings with Dollar General’s supplier diversity team for those selected will be held from September 25 to 29.
“We’re excited to seek new vendors to help ensure the unique customers and communities we serve have relevant products they depend on us to carry,” said Emily Taylor, Dollar General’s executive vice president and chief merchandising officer. “An intentional investment in supplier diversity reflects Dollar General’s mission of Serving Others and core values that include ‘respecting the dignity and differences of others.’ We look forward to connecting with new vendors to extend our supplier diversity efforts and learn how we can collaboratively better serve our customers.”
