Ibotta, a free-to-use cashback rewards platform, will support new Dollar General customer financial services and cashback options as the value retailer takes another step toward becoming more competitive with mass marketers such as Walmart and Target.
Dollar General will join the Ibotta Performance Network, which it categorizes as the first digital network that enables promotion delivery in a coordinated fashion across retailer platforms, large third-party publisher sites and its partner direct-to-consumer properties. Dollar General added that it is the first retailer in the dollar store channel to join IPN.
Dollar General shoppers already can receive cashback rewards on thousands of items through Ibotta’s platform, and they can expect cashback rewards available directly through the retailer’s app and website by the spring, the company noted.
Among its recent initiatives, the Ibotta partnership builds on the Dollar General March 2022 announcement of enhanced financial services, which includes its exclusive Spendwell banking platform and FIS Worldpay card rewards points payment options.
“We are excited to provide an additional innovative option for our customers to help stretch their budgets,” said Emily Taylor, Dollar General’s executive vice president and chief merchandising officer. “Ibotta’s cashback rewards program further complements our continuous efforts to provide financial offerings and rewards to customers alongside our everyday low prices.
