Dollar General Corp. has appointed four new executives to the company as it boosts leadership in supply chain, merchandising, store operations and finance.
The appointments come after Dollar General revealed in February it had split its store operations and development functions, naming Steve Deckard, who had been the company’s executive vice president of store operations and development, executive vice president of strategy and development; and promoting Tracey Herrmann, who had been senior vice president of store operations, to executive vice president of store operations.
Dollar General reported the following executive moves:
- Steve O’Brien has joined the company as vice president, division merchandise manager, to lead DG’s strategic buying and merchandise assortment in the stationery, hardware, sundries, toys and summer events categories. He has some 20 years of experience in omnichannel retail merchandising and product strategy as well as financial planning.
- Tricia Snider has joined DG as division vice president, store operations for more than 2,300 stores in the Northeast. She has more than 18 years of experience in operations and in building high-performing teams to execute strategy and enhance organizational success.
- Bill Steiger has joined DG as vice president, tax, overseeing all aspects of the income tax function at the company. He has 25 years of accounting and tax experience including directing multiple strategic federal, state and international tax initiatives related to accounting, compliance, technology and planning opportunities.
- Nick Metzger has joined DG as vice president, distribution centers, responsible for the operations and strategic direction of facilities including Aurora, CO, Lebec, CA, Longview, TX, Sacramento, CA, and San Antonio, TX. He brings more than 14 years of experience in optimizing supply chain processes, managing logistics, transportation and procurement operations.
A message to Dollar General asking for more detail on the executives’ backgrounds wasn’t immediately answered. According to LinkedIn: O’Brien was a vice president and divisional merchandising manager with At Home and he has experience at Bon Ton and Belk; Snider was COO with Jetro Restaurant Depot and has earlier experience with Aldi; and Steiger was vice president, tax at Astec Industries before taking the DG position.
