Dollar General Corp. announced Steve Deckard, executive vice president, growth and emerging markets, will expand his role to lead store operations with with planned January 19 departure from the retailer of Steve Sunderland, executive vice president, store operations.
Deckard will lead store operations across Dollar General retail locations, Mi Súper Dollar General in Mexico, Popshelf stores, the company stated. He will continue to lead real estate, asset protection and DG’s Wellbeing strategies.
Deckard joined Dollar General in 2006 as a regional director of stores. He has held roles of increasing responsibility in store operations, strategy and financial planning and asset protection.
In announcing the executive changes, Todd Vasos, Dollar General CEO, said, “Since joining Dollar General in 2006 as a leader in our stores, Steve (Deckard) has consistently shown his ability to deliver strong results while remaining focused on our customer. As we get back to the basics across all functions at DG, we are confident (Deckard’s) proven leadership, deep understanding of our operations and commitment to our mission position him uniquely to drive our stores’ success today and into the future.”
