CVS Health named Ed DeVaney president of the company’s CVS Caremark pharmacy benefit management business.
Over the past several months, CVS has been reconfiguring its operation under David Joyner president and CEO, who replaced Karen Lynch in the position a year ago. At the time, previous CVS Chairman Roger Farah became executive chairman.
The new approach to the business places more emphasis on the stores, realigning the health care services part of the operation to leverage the connection to consumers provided by its physical CVS locations in planning for growth.
DeVaney joined CVS Health in 2005 and most recently led CVS Caremark sales and account management as president, Employer & Health Plans.
“(DeVaney’s) ability to build and grow a strong team culture, while prioritizing talent development, leads to strong business results,” Joyner said. “His commitment shows every day in his deep understanding of our industry, his advocacy for our business and a proven track record of anticipating and solving client needs.”
