Online sales on Cyber Monday 2024 easily beat those racked up on the same day last year and on Black Friday this year, setting a new record in the process.
Cyber Monday sales, as tracked by Adobe Analytics, reached $13.3 billion versus $12.4 billion on the year-previous occasion, a 7.3% gain. Last year’s $12.4 billion set a Cyber Monday record at the time. Cyber Monday online sales this year also topped digital sales for Black Friday 2024, which totaled $10.8 billion.
Discount deals peaked on or around Black Friday for many categories, but not all. In the home categories tracked by Adobe Analytics, average appliance discounts peaked at 18% on Black Friday, then slipped to 17.6% on Cyber Monday. However, furniture discounts continued to deepen to 19% on Cyber Monday compared to 16.5% on Black Friday.
Cyber Monday also saw better conversion rates than Black Friday at 7% for desktop and related devices and 4.6% for mobile versus 6.5% and 3.3%, respectively.
