As it charts growth in its consumer business and modifies its healthcare position, CVS Health has developed a new version of the company’s app that provides consumers with more comprehensive wellness support.
The CVS Health app launches as a new version of an existing application. In replacing the CVS Pharmacy app, the rollout becomes one of several initiatives underway at the company that aims to improve healthcare experiences. So, the new app gives users the ability to manage prescriptions for an entire family through stores, CVS Caremark mail orders and the company’s specialty pharmacies, with delivery and fulfillment options and transparency into prescription order status and cost, the company pointed out.
A redesigned and personalized home screen features a health to-do list and recommendations, CVS noted, including reminders to refill medications, updates on upcoming appointments and savings offers on goods and services. AI-powered search helps consumers locate products, services and information from across CVS Health and select third-party content providers. In addition, a new conversational AI chat enables patients to check medication refills, the status of their orders and other functions. The new-style app provides enhanced integrations, including with Aetna, the CVS healthcare division, Caremark and the company’s broader business to create a unified consumer experience, CVS pointed out.
“The app is the health concierge and guide for all consumers,” says Tony Ambrozie, senior vice president and chief digital and technology officer of CVS Health Pharmacy and Consumer Wellness, in announcing the app change. “With 60 million digital customers, we are excited to continue to innovate and bring best-in-class and first-in-industry capabilities to our customers.”
