Bed Bath & Beyond appointed Laura Crossen interim CFO following the death of CFO Gustavo Arnal, the company stated in a filing with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission.
Crossen was the company’s senior vice president, finance and chief accounting officer. She will be the company’s principal financial officer on the interim basis and will continue as Bed Bath & Beyond’s principal accounting officer.
In the filing, the company also expressed its sadness about CFO Arnal’s death on September 2. According to published reports, the New York City medical examiner ruled Arnal’s death from a high-rise building fall was a suicide.
