Leanne Ford is teaming up again with Crate & Barrel and Crate & Kids, this time on a new collaboration dubbed the Origins Collection, which the retailer characterized as a whole-home celebration.
The collection features 129 pieces ranging from sofas to cribs to dinnerware, featuring a gentle approach to design that includes layered neutrals and encompassing curves with a bit of rock-and-roll fun thrown in, Crate & Barrel maintained.
The popular styles in previous collaborations with the designer informed the Origins Collection, the company pointed out. New pieces include the Gig Sofa, a relaxed, sun-bleached leather take on the classic Chesterfield sofa; and a new version of the Fields Cane Chair, now available in a swivel option. The new collaboration also includes fresh designs from Ford, including the Rica and Fields collection pieces that put caning and ‘coastal cool’ in the bedroom.
Leanne Ford for Crate & Kids delivers high-design in a playful way for children’s rooms, with inspiration emerging from ideas the designer considered in decorating her daughter’s nursery, according to Crate & Barrel. Highlights include a new heart-shaped baby activity mat based on the designer’s renowned hand-drawn heart sketch and a hand-carved FSC-certified wooden Lennox Crib and Armoire Cabinet.
Origins product prices start at $8.95. Consumers can shop the collection at Crate & Barrel and Crate & Kids stores and on their websites.

“This new collection is the culmination of our longstanding and special partnership with Leanne, celebrating her original artistic vision and design process,” said Sebastian Brauer, Crate & Barrel, senior vice president of product design, in introducing the collection. “Art, creating and living with purpose is inherent in both the Crate & Barrel brand and Leanne’s DNA. We continued our evolution by combining design styles and different eras with a warm neutral color palette, unique artisanal touches, innovative materials and a cohesive edit and narrative.”
Ford noted, “Curating this capsule felt special because I went back to my classic American design roots to present bright and airy pieces. This lasting collection pays homage to the work we’ve done together over the years, while incorporating unique and laid-back details. Inspiration came from every corner, from quilted jackets I saw on runways around the world that became the Mellow collection, to the Kiln Dinnerware, born out of the wonky wobbly ceramics I make in my Pittsburgh studio and reproduced by artisans in Portugal.”
