Crate & Barrel is launching two new collections with interior designer Jake Arnold: an outdoor assortment offering what the retailer describes as a refined take on escapism and a fresh lineup for Crate & Kids.
In rolling out the new items, Crate & Barrel reported it is building on the success of the 2023 Jake Arnold for Crate & Barrel whole home collaboration. The new collections expand the partnership to kids rooms and household outdoor spaces.
The Jake Arnold for Crate & Kids Collection (pictured above) is a nod to European vintage with subtle undersea motifs, distilled into pieces that can grow from nursery to big kids room and stand on their own as well, the company noted. Working with Arnold, the Crate & Kids design team started with playful elements found in vintage French furniture to add sophistication to pieces such as the Everett Ocean Upholstered Twin Bed, which doubles as practical storage. Intricate details unique to a kids collection and refined materials in the wicker Iris Clamshell Table Lamp and boucle Hatsby Accent Chairs serve up a long-lasting, buildable staple with a whimsical touch, the retailer said.
The Jake Arnold outdoor collection aims to redefine outdoor spaces, Crate & Barrel asserted. The new assortment of outdoor furniture, lighting and tabletop merges English garden elegance balanced with glam Hollywood Regency in ways that give consumers styling options. Shoppers can pair the teak Hartford Sofa and Lounge Chairs with the Felix Wicker Side Table for an open-air feel, while outdoor entertaining pieces such as the regal Thornton Beverage Tub and shatterproof glassware take their inspiration from 1940s France. Dinnerware has a design suitable for casual indoor/outdoor lifestyles, and stylish glassware is particularly suited for use as barware and outdoor dining, the retailer said.
The new Jake Arnold collections combine for more than 140 exclusive pieces, starting at $34 and available now at Crate & Barrel and Crate & Kids in store, online and on the associated app.
“From our very first collaboration, Jake has shared a unique vision of effortless style that blends heirloom classics with his signature modern touch, creating pieces that feel both timeless and modern,” said Sebastian Brauer, Crate & Barrel senior vice president of product design. “We’re excited to continue growing this partnership, expanding into new areas like outdoor and kids’ spaces by combining Jake’s European and California influences with our dedication to craftsmanship.”
