Despite recent difficulties, The Container Store continues to open small-format locations, planning to debut a pair of Virginia stores in Washington, DC, metropolitan area.
The first of the new stores will open June 15 in Springfield, VA, and the second will open July 27 in Ashburn, VA. The openings will bring The Container Store’s retail presence to six stores in Virginia and 104 nationwide.
The Springfield and Ashburn stores are The Container Store’s the latest additions to the company’s small-format store portfolio, the company pointed out. Each will feature a Custom Spaces Studio showcasing closet, living and garage displays of the company’s exclusive Elfa and Preston lines, as well as a design center and related do-it-yourself offerings. At each store, shoppers will find a curated assortment of storage and organization items for all areas of the home. Also, they can discover unique products in categories such as travel, pet care and home fragrances, the company noted.
“The Container Store is excited to expand our reach in the DC area with two new locations in Virginia, furthering our purpose to transform lives through the power of organization,” said Jennifer Page, senior vice president of stores for The Container store. “Our differentiated offering of custom spaces, complementary organizing solutions and in-home services is a retail experience customers can’t find anywhere else, and we are pleased to bring this offering closer to customers in Springfield and Ashburn who have shopped at our surrounding locations. We look forward to welcoming Virginians this weekend to the new Springfield location, and in July when we open in Ashburn.”
