Luxury department stores Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom have changes underway in their executive suites.
Nordstrom has announced that chief merchandising officer Teri Bariquit is retiring. She will remain in her role until the company identifies her successor to ensure a smooth transition.
Neiman Marcus Group has announced that Nabil Aliffi (pictured above) has joined the company as chief brand officer. The company also stated that Stefanie Tsen Ward has been promoted to chief retail officer. Both are newly created roles. Aliffi and Tsen Ward report to Ryan Ross, president of the Neiman Marcus Brand. Ross joined Neiman Marcus in August.
Before moving to Neiman Marcus, Aliffi was global chief creative officer of Soho House & Co. Tsen Ward was senior vp, customer engagement and west region integrated retail prior to her promotion.
Neiman Marcus noted that the creation of the new roles will accelerate NMG’s growth strategy and plan to revolutionize luxury experiences.
“Neiman Marcus is the leading integrated luxury retailer in the U.S., recently achieving tremendous transformation,” said Ross in announcing the executive changes. “These strategic roles will further define the magic of the iconic brand by driving areas that directly impact our customers and fuel our growth.”
At Nordstrom, Bariquit will remain in her role until the company identifies a successor, the company stated. The company has commenced an internal and external search process to find a successor for Bariquit.
Pete Nordstrom, president and chief brand officer at Nordstrom, noted, “From her earliest days with the company, Teri has lived our values and led with courage and purpose. During her tenure, she’s transformed every element of our merchandising organization and positioned our merchandising team for continued success. The impact Teri has made on our company will last well into the future, and I appreciate the thoughtful approach she has taken to planning her retirement. We wish her the best as she begins this next chapter.”
