CB2 is introducing a new format store, Design Shop, on May 11 staffed exclusively by consultants trained to work with clients on projects ranging from small updates to full home redesigns.
The Design Shop’s CB2 Interiors stylists will operate at the iconic Malibu Country Mart, the company noted. Designed by an in-house architecture team led by Anthony Garrippo, in coordination with CB2’s lead visual merchant Sara Harter, the Malibu Design Shop serves as a space for inspiration. CB2 Design shop will offer exclusive products such as few-of-a-kind furniture, small and large live plant offerings, vintage pieces and little luxuries such as lotions, potions and scented candles perfect for gifting.
The Design Shop will also host regular programming on developing interior spaces under the designation CB2 Shop Talk. It will feature designer meet and greets, design demonstrations and panel discussions with CB2 experts focused on new dynamics within the industry.
With the smallest footprint under the banner, the Design Shop measures just over 2,250 square feet, roughly one-quarter of the average CB2 footprint. It will serve as a creative hub and destination for home inspiration, serving trade members, their clients and local customers alike, CB2 stated.
The Design Shop is a hallmark of Crate & Barrel Holdings’ new retail strategy, which has evolved in the past few years with select new openings and enhanced service offerings in both brick-and-mortar and e-commerce operations
