As part of multiple executive moves, BJ’s Wholesale Club Holdings has appointed Rachael Vegas evp, chief merchandising officer.
She will take on strategic leadership of the company’s merchandising and assortment planning and allocation functions, reporting to Paul Cichocki, BJ’s evp, chief commercial officer.
Prior to taking on the BJ’s role, Vegas was svp/e-commerce merchandising at supermarket operator H-E-B, where she was responsible for the company’s digital business as well as its in-store financial services and payments division, and its retail media initiative, BJ’s maintained. Before joining H-E-B, Vegas held various leadership positions at Brandless, Target and Delhaize Group, BJ’s noted.
As it announced the Vegas appointment, BJ’s also revealed that it had promoted Tim Morningstar to evp, chief membership officer. He was svp/membership acquisition and loyalty, and leads the company’s membership and marketing functions. He also reports to Cichocki. He previously was a partner at the Boston office of Bain & Co. BJ’s also reported that Monica Schwartz will assume the role of evp, chief digital officer, reporting directly to BJ’s president and CEO Bob Eddy. She joined BJ’s in 2020 as SVP, chief digital officer and heads up strategic leadership of the company’s digital business. Schwartz had been vp/online merchandising at Home Depot, BJ’s noted.
